Basic Pistol Courses

Join the Centershot Training family with the basics. We will cover - introductory range session where you'll receive professional guidance on safe firearm handling and shooting practices. Discover the excitement of a thrilling new sport and enjoy a new sense of accomplishment unlike any other. This event will cover shooting with handguns only.
Things you need; Eye/Ear protection, Your handgun w/ 50 rounds. Items are available for purchase or rent. Rental Prices are: $5 to rent firearm, $1 each Eye/Ear protection. Ammunition must be purchased.
Due to classes being limited in size our policy is no show, no call, no refund. If you become unable to attend the scheduled class, contact us ahead of time and we will do our best to get you rescheduled to the next available class.
What to bring:

Use of our rimfire training pistols free of charge. Students must bring, or purchase, 50 rounds of ".22 LR" rimfire ammunition.

Firearm rental for $5 - if you'd like to shoot pistols other than our training guns.

NSSF First Steps Pistol Class
Centershot is proud to offer the NSSF FIRST Steps Pistol course which is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type.
This course is at least three hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn guidelines for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Upon completion students will receive basic pistol knowledge, shooting experience on the range and a First Steps Course completion certificate.
This class is designed to orient beginners to one specific pistol. Safe handling skills, shooting fundamentals, ammunition malfunctions, & more.
Class is 3 hours which is approximately 2 hours in the classroom & 1 hour on the range.

NRA Basics of Pistol Course
The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely.
Through this course, the students will learn about firearm safety, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, pistol shooting fundamentals, adjusting their sights (sighting in), shooting positions, proper marksmanship fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities they can do on their own to improve their skills into the future.
60+% of this class is hands on.
Approximately 3 hours on the range! We finish the day learning the proper way to clean & maintain your pistol so you go home with a clean firearm.
This is the most thorough Basic Pistol Course available. If you’re new to pistol shooting, want to build a foundation for better marksmanship, or want to confidently qualify for your concealed pistol class- this will get you there! Every level shooter will learn better marksmanship in this class.
